PR Manager & Sr. Communications Manager

  • Senior manager for internal and external communication functions, including product messaging and branding, crisis communications and media relations;  directly manage two employees, plus contract writers and PR agency.

  • Led PR and content strategy for new SingleHop products, including the company’s first software service, SingleHop AI. The product’s beta launch earned coverage in several major tech trades, leading to more than 2,000 pre-release signups.  

  • Serve as editor in chief of industry news and thought leadership blog, writing and editing more than 200 posts in 2016 and 2017. Site traffic grew 125% YOY in 2017.

  • Rewrote website content in conjunction with product owners, engineers and SEO consultants. Organic traffic grew 54% YOY in 2017, leading in part to a 23% increase in marketing-generated won deals.    

  • As member of the senior marketing team following the February 2018 INAP acquisition of SingleHop, I’m leading strategic re-branding content efforts for the combined organization.

 

2011-2015

Corporate Communications Manager & Sr. Career Adviser 

  • Developed and pitch weekly workplace, job search and labor market studies and surveys for local, trade and national media; the tactic is the foundation of CareerBuilder's thought leadership and media relations strategy, contributing an average of 5,000 unique print and broadcast news hits per quarter and totaling an average of $7 million in publicity value.
     

  • Served as a senior career adviser and spokesperson, discussing labor market and workplace trends in leading news publications, including ABC News, Wall Street Journal's MarketWatch, Forbes, Money and Fox Business.
     

  • Lead writer, researcher and project manager for the 2013 book, "The Talent Equation: Big Data Lessons for Navigating the Skills Gap and Building a Competitive Workforce" co-authored by CareerBuilder CEO Matt Ferguson, Prasanna Tambe (Stern School of Business, NYU) and Lorin Hitt (Wharton School of Business, UPenn), published by McGraw Hill.
     

  • Collaborated with C-Level executives on media talking points; secure and write editorials under their bylines for HR trade and national publications such as Harvard Business Review, Diversity Executive, Huffington Post and Global Banking and Finance News.

2009-2011

Ghost Writer/Lead Researcher

  • Wrote full draft of a consumer psychology book for company president, Dr. Mark Ingwer, published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2011.
     

  • Managed three research interns and coordinated all secondary research efforts, selecting most applicable information for chapters.
     

  • Developed book’s creative framework – a revitalized model of human psychological needs – with Dr. Ingwer. The model, based on findings from his professional work, can be applied at all levels of business/organizational strategy. The book argues for an empathy-based approach to understanding the needs of consumers and target audiences.

Web Editor/Research Associate

  • Designed and developed business psychology blog, “The Dotted Line,” for company’s website. Within three months of launch, blog traffic was responsible for boosting company’s SEO page ranking by more than 300%. 
     

  • As blog editor, managed and mentored six summer interns implementing social media and marketing strategy.
     

  • Assisted company’s core market research business by conducting in-field qualitative research projects for Fortune 500 clients.
     

  • Wrote and edited qualitative research reports, as well as copy for company’s health care website.
